Lost ID

Travel discovery: it is very nerve wracking moving in to panic stage when one discovers he can't find his ID as he gets to TSA. Twenty minutes later all was well but I lost a lot of hair during that time....just in case any of you happen to see me and my hair is thinner.

Another Ponderable

Another ponderable. I really don't understand men, particularly middle aged or older, with receding hairline who think it is a good look to have long stringy hair down to the waste and pulled into a pony tail with a scrunchy and wearing a suit and tie. Really, I just don't get it

L.A.Law or Boston Legal?

I feel like I am watching an episode of L.A.Law or Boston Legal...in real life. I am sitting in the second row of first class. Just in front of me in row one are two legal love birds headed to DC. He, sitting in the aisle seat. She the window. He looks to be in his forties, curly permed and receding hairline, wearing a nice but off the rack pin striped suit. No top coat but a wool scarf draped around his neck, tie untied but still settled under his buttoned down collar. He appears to spend time in the gym. He is "cool and confident". She, probably late thirties, blonde, attractive, professional in appearance and a bit doe eyed. As soon as they sit down they start chattering, rather loudly. He regaling her with his trips to Berlin and Prague. She hangs on every word. They talk about their respective experiences in law school while drinking their cheap but ok wine. He red. She white. I hear them talk about cases, etc, in between small smooch sessions. He then starts talking about his three kids, and of course whips out his phone to show beach pictures. She oohs and ahs for effect while the cuddle up when the lights dim. They still feign interest in legal talk as they begin to quiet down and get a little closer. This is where it got funny. One of his apparently younger colleagues walks by on the way to the lavatory and says hello. I thought the guy was going to break his chair trying to sit back up and look "professional". I am guessing there is at least one spouse in this story that is not in this particular episode. Dang, this is entertaining. Lol

The Trifecta

Today I hit the flying trifecta, of sorts. This has never happened to me before in all my years of flying. This was a very busy flying week. Three destinations, two legs each. The week started off badly with both legs of my first trip having mechanical delays so I was none too happy with delta for a several hour delay. On Wednesday I boarded my first leg of my next segment, still not real happy with delta but rolling with it. When I boarded I was greeted by a very courteous, professional and friendly flight attendant seemed to sense my delta displeasure, joking that I didn't get upgraded but it was a short flight so no big deal. But she asked my seat number and said she would take care of me. In flight, she did just that while serving drinks etc by offering something a little stronger than my Fresca. I declined as I had some conf calls etc during my two hour layover but chuckled, thanked her and asked for a rain check, not expecting to cash it in...but I really appreciated the gesture. After my two hour layover I board my flight and yep, you guessed it, there was the same flight attendant, she again asked my seat number and again she offered a free liquid upgrade to my Fresca. It was then we'll past 5p so I partook, accepting a double serving of Woodford Reserve on the rocks...twice. She was very gracious and professional and very much appreciated. So after complaining to Delta about my experience on Monday, I got her name and sent Delta a note last night of appreciation for service above and beyond the normal by a very good delta employee. So today, after a very packed set of meetings I go to the airport and to my gate for boarding. Yep, there she is again. The trifecta. Looking forward to another great flight experience.

She's Just a Twitchy Woman

Ah, geez. The lady next to me on my flight fell asleep and is twitching...very badly. She just elbowed me in the ribs.

Travel Ponderable

Travel ponderable for today. I get why ladies...and some men...like to color their naturally greying hair which often results in the exposure of grey roots as the hair grows. So, yesterday I saw a young lady, maybe twenty but guessing late teens, who had colored her dark hair grey...and her Brown roots were showing. Just wonder why?

Night Flying

The Power Napper

I guess power naps are important to some people. On a 21 minute flight, as soon as the wheels lifted off the tarmac, the lady in front of me reclined her seat, grabbed a pillow and blanket and snuggled down to get comfortable...in a coach seat. I am not complaining, mind you. I have enough room to endure the next fifteen minutes. But I am amused. Meanwhile the cabin is relatively quiet except for two very chatty and loud talking women. Don't they know they are keeping people awake? Now really? Whoops! Out of time. Headed down now. Glad some people got their rest. ;)
