TSA PreClear Confusion

Dear Delta and TSA, you know I am a very frequent traveler and generally roll with the punches of weather and other delays pretty well. Because of my frequent flyer status I generally receive the TSA pre check which gets me through security pretty fast. Thank you.

Black Jack

My politically incorrect flight experience in first class. I am flying to Hartford this evening. It is an unusual 3 leg flight and finally on my last leg from Raleigh to Hartford aboard a CRJ 900. It has a first class cabin, but small. I am feeling a bit of a cold coming on so, instead of my usual cabernet, I ordered some Jack Daniels and ginger ale to sooth my throat a tad.

Fan of Delta Airlines

Just for the record, I am now a bigger fan of Delta...at least in first class. Dark chocolate with sea salt and caramel, along with a decent red wine, sure makes the short trip a bit easier.

Jetwash?

When flying, how close to another jet does your jet have to be to experience jetwash turbulence? The pilot just announced that little Ole bump in the air was just that....which makes me ponder the question.

Flying: Two Observations

Two observations. 1, The pre board line (those older or who otherwise needed extra time boarding) was exceptionally, even humorously long. It could have easily been an episode of Seinfeld. 2, the guy sitting beside me is wearing a shirt that is only a little bit louder than his annoying voice as he practically yells into his phone....annoying many. Will be glad to get back to Tennessee where manners are a little better.

Airline Food

Strictly my opinion but airline food has improved in recent years, at least on Delta. Granted, I got my upgrade to first class so that helps. But, I was served a nice turkey club on toasted bun with bacon and melted cheese, garnished with a nice pickle and accompanied by tomato basil soup and Cape Cod Kettle Cooked potato chips, followed by a large individually wrapped triple chocolate chip cookie. All in all not a bad lunch at all. Very tasty. Good job Delta Airlines.

The Bully in Economy

Another flight, another saga. My wife traveled with me this week. On our cross country return flight from Seattle to Atlanta we were in coach. I had the aisle and Sheena had the middle seat. Packed plane.

The Seatmate from Hell

Another fellow passenger from hell. Ok, I got my upgrade and settled in, enjoying my complimentary glass of wine. Passengers continued to board and the seat beside me continued to remain open throughout most of the boarding process. Usually first class fills up pretty quickly, but not always, so no big deal.
